Read Around with Year 1

As part of our literacy week, Year 4 have had the opportunity to read with our Year 1 pupils. 4JW were very impressed with the fluency of the Year 1 readers and 1FB said they enjoyed the experience very much!

Year 4 Objectives w/c 27/03/17

Literacy

In Year 4 this week, we will learn: 

• To write around a theme.

Mathematics

In Year 4 this week, we will learn:

• To solve word problems involving all four operations
• To solve time interval problems.

Year 4 Weekly Objectives w/c 20/03/17

Literacy

In Year 4 this week, we will learn: 

• to write a letter in the role of a character;
• to distinguish between the present perfect, present and past tense;
• to spell words on the NC Year 4 word list (commonly used but easily misspelt words);
• we will also be doing reading and SPaG assessments.

Mathematics

In Year 4 this week, we will learn:

• To solve problems involving time intervals. 
• To know how many days are in each month.

Year 3 Weekly Objectives w.c. 20.3.17

Literacy

In Year 3 this week, we will : 

• learn to turn verbs into the past tense.
• answer SPaG style questions and understand how to answer them.

Mathematics

In Year 3 this week, we will :

• learn to interpret data from a bar chart in order to answer questions.
• learn to present data in a bar chart going up in difference scales.

Literacy

In Year 3 this week, we will : 

• learn to use a variety of punctuation.
• learn to include a variety of conjunctions and openers. 
• learn to use a thesaurus to find better vocabulary. 

Mathematics

In Year 3 this week, we will :

• learn to find right angles.
• understand the terms obtuse and acute. 
• know the relationship between angles and turns.

Year 4 Weekly Objectives w/c 6.3.17

Literacy

In Year 4 this week, we will learn: 

• to understand and identify the features of an explanation text;
• to write our own chronological steps and present them as a flowchart;
• to compare the two styles of writing in the text Until I Met Dudley;
• to know the difference between standard and non-standard English forms;
• to spell words with the suffix -gue or -que.

Mathematics

In Year 4 this week, we will learn:

• To order the decimals using a number line 
• To find equivalent fractions. 
• To multiply and divide by 10, 100, 1000

In Year 3 this week, we will : 

• learn to write a detailed and exciting myth.
• draft, edit and improve our writing.

Mathematics

In Year 3 this week, we will :

• learn how to calculate perimeter with given lengths
• learn to measure and calculate perimeter of given shapes.
