Earlier this week, Year 4 explored the colours, tastes, sights and sounds of India. The day began with our pupils cooking traditional Indian food. Chopped vegetables were mixed together, fragrant curry paste was added and tasty samosas took shape. The wonderful smell of the delicious food baking wafted through the school corridors making tummies rumble. Later, Year 4 imagined strolling through the Indian jungle and taking a trip on the school bus in Adivasi (in the Nigiri district of south India). During the walk, the children were on the lookout for wild animals, especially elephants! Our pupils then enjoyed playing some traditional Indian games - including Chess, Pachisi, Jacks and Marbles - and making Indian arts and crafts. The day came to an energetic end with a very enjoyable Bollywood dance workshop. Year 4 had a fantastic time experiencing the colourful culture and customs of India.
